Medium size. Handmade thread by thread, these cotton lamp shades embody elegance and purity through the use of raw materials. Each piece is meticulously crafted to create a stunning interplay of light and texture.
Kwalu Tunal, meaning “The Sun Is Eaten” in the Nawat language, captures the essence of a solar eclipse. For the Pipil culture, this celestial event represents a profound interaction between two opposite forces: the moon and the sun. The sun represents their most important star for establishing the world order and time periodicity.
Drawing inspiration from this vision we developed the Kwalu lamps. These lamps symbolize a beam of light captured within a delicate curtain of threads, mirroring the mystical moment when the sun’s brilliance is momentarily veiled.
